FREE ENHANCEMENT - CONDITION RESPONSIBLE EMAIL ALERTS

Our Software-as-a-Service philosophy means we regularly provide product upgrades at no additional cost, based on requests from our users.

The upgrade will allow those "Condition Responsible" users that have been allocated responsibility at condition level to receive auto-generated emails about current and upcoming compliance events relating to a particular condition.

Consent Managers will also continue to receive these emails outlining all the conditions that require action under their relevant consents. Consent Managers are encouraged to make sure that the contacts that have been allocated condition responsibility are current and that their email addresses are correct.

Simply access the "Edit this Consent" view and then drill down into the appropriate condition, you can then set the condition responsibility party by choosing the contact from a pick list.  The image above highlights the three "Condition Responsible" users as an example.

This upgrade will occur on the 27th of September. If you require further assistance please feel free to get in touch with our support team.

  SUB-CONTRACTOR COMPLIANCE
HINTS AND TIPS - COMMUNICATING THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPLIANCE WITH SUB-CONTRACTORS

Managing compliance with resource consent conditions can be complex. One of the most difficult areas to manage can be in dealing with sub contractors, because even though contractual obligations can be passed to third parties, the responsibility for consent compliance remains with the consent holder.

All environmental managers should be aware of the importance of explaining fully the conditions associated with each new project involving "subbies".

To facilitate this it is vital to undertake a "pre-start" meeting with all key stakeholders (including contractors and regulators) and bring to everyone's attention any specific consent requirements.

Lack of a pre start meeting tends to lead to misunderstanding in regard to compliance responsibilities, which in turn can lead to non compliance events. Many regulators rate these meetings as the single most important activity to undertake at pre-commencement.
